I was born in Denver in July 1929 to parents Frank and Hazel Sweeney.  I have a brother and two sisters.  I attended St. Joseph's grade school and high school in Denver, graduating in 1947, and then Loretto Heights College, graduating in 1951 with a degree in Englilsh. I worked for the City and County of Denver in the court system from 1951 until 1954 when I married Joseph Sloan, also a Denver native. I went back to work in 1981 at The Iliff School of Theolgy in the Institutional Advancement Off ice and retired in 1996. We had seven children, four boys and three girls.  Our eldest daughter died at 16 with a heart problem. We have eight grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters, all residing in the Denver area.  We lived at 6th and Madison in Cherry Creek for 48 years and then moved to Windsor Gardens in 2008 because of my husband's failing health.
